You

I wrote that title "tongue in cheek" after running across a quote from a favorite Hollywood actress Teri Garr, who joked in her book Speedbumps (in which she recalls her Hollywood film and life experiences), "I really do count my blessings. At least I used to; now I get so tired, I have a woman come in once a week and count them for me."

Actually, the point Teri goes on to make is that she greatly improved her life when she found ways to slow down each day and experience simple aspects of life more consciously. Read a little Eckhardt Tolle or most any consciousness writer about being present and grateful.

A wonderful little exercise is to simply stop for 10 minutes and make a list (mental or on paper) of everything you can think of for which you are grateful. Count your blessings and then watch the change in your experience of the rest of your day.

Gratitude Tunes Your Core Vibration

The vibration of Gratitude cannot be overstated. Gratitude is a state of being in which you drop your resistance to experiencing your life in the ways you always truly wanted. Gratitude creates timelessness and peace in your heart. But before THINK AND GROW RICH, Napoleon HIll published, in 1928, a nearly 1200 page book called THE LAW OF SUCCESS "Teaching for the First Time in the History of the World, the True Philosophy upon which all Personal Success is Built," to quote Hill and published by The Ralston University Press in Meriden, Connecticut.

You can read this phenomenal, life-transforming 16 lesson course online — at no cost — by going to the following link:

LAWS OF SUCCESS - 16 LESSON COURSE

A PERSONAL STATEMENT BY THE AUTHOR (NAPOLEON HILL):

Some thirty years ago a young clergyman by the name of Gunsaulus announced in the newspapers of Chicago that he would preach a sermon the following Sunday morning entitled:

"WHAT I WOULD DO IF I HAD A MILLION DOLLARS!"

The announcement caught the eye of Philip D. According to Julia Seton Sears, M.D., definite laws of success exist. Julia Seton Sears' book The Science of Success is a very rare book originally published in 1914. Her husband, F.W. Sears published his own book "How to Attract Success" and the two compliment each other.

So, What Is Success?

Dr. Sears stated, "Success is the power in the individual to get the thing he or she wants, when they want it, in the way the want it, to keep it as long as they want it and when they have included it, let go of it, and pass on to the fulfillment of a new desire." This definition of Success is about as inclusive as any I've ever read.

"We see clearly that everyone in the world is doing just the thing they should do and that when they have gotten enough of the old thing, and include all its laws in their consciousness," Sears writes, "they will quit and naturally pass on into the inclusion of something else." Success is not "a mysterious thing that waits around and then rushes unannounced into a life," Sears continues.

"The reason so many are seeking success, fame, money, love and recognition and not finding it, is because they have never learned the first necessary lesson of knowing themselves. First, they do not know what they want to do, and secondly, they do not know how to do what they want to do." The first true law for success, Sears indicates, is, "know what part of the mighty stream of the universe you belong, and then strike boldly out in that current of life."

The creative person, she adds, "does not think in dollars;" they "think in millions." The failure world, Sears points out, "is heaped high with those who didn't know." In other words most people don't have a CLUE as to what they want to do with their lives beyond safety and self-preservation needs. I recommend this rare book to you because "The individual who hopes for success must become that success in their own mind, at once," and Sears' book shows her readers how to exactly do just that. Frankly, reading them can be depressing rather than inspirational -- not good for the psyche.

A super-serious psyche that isn't entertained by your life is likely to busy itself giving you just the opposite of what you're seeking. I was thrilled and stirred...I doubt if I have ever been moved so deeply by anything else I have read."

Take a look at Emerson's "Self-Reliance" when you get a chance. See if it thrills and stirs you as it did William Allen White when he was seventeen.

Your thoughts are not just whispey things that appear, hang around for a few seconds, and disappear. He says, as we all agree, that money is energy. Peter, however, says money on the physical plane is DENSE energy. You can learn to play around with dense energy and get yourself a home, a car, furniture and food, or you can grow a metaphysical carrot. A real carrot, Peter notes, is grown from the dense energy of the soil. What good, he asks, is a metaphysical carrot if you can’t eat it? His view is that when Jesus told his followers to “be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove," he was saying be wise in the ways of the world and if survival depends on a physical plane existence and you’re going to have to play in the same arena as the the well-to-do, then you better to give up any fanciful notions you have about money being the root of all evil [actually the Greek is “a" root of evil], get real and wise, become as educated and informed as your competitors are, and let your light shine as brightly or even more brilliantly than theirs does. Our service to others is a present, a gift we give of our time, skills, and talents. Our giving attitude convinces the “inner us" that we already have a lot, that we are prosperous [lucky] and expect to remain so. Also, any questions about where to start your money flow can be answered by asking yourself the question, “What is it I get the most praise for doing that I love and enjoy? What have people suggested I do more of?" What riches within my reach am I overlooking? We should all be (1) having more FUN, (2) having more instances of "absurd good news." This is my version of notice what is already great about your life and as you get happier about what you're already happy about you'll find you'll lose more of that fear of change. I've reached the place where I can truly follow the words of a former justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, Justice Holmes, who wrote: "Have faith and pursue the unknown ends," knowing they may be absurdly better than you ever imagined. Julia Cameron in her book The Artist's Way says to "Leap and the net will appear," and I suggest you will know exactly when it's time to leap and you won't do anything until you, inwardly, are shown and have unshakable conviction that "This day, today, is the day I leap and not a moment before."

Click to Read: Will I Ever Be Happy Again?

Is TV News More About Ratings & Money Than Bettering the World?

Excerpt from my article -- Local broadcast news has become more about ratings and station profits than solid news gathering, compiling lists of trusted sources, compelling writing, and good storytelling. What if you were given a printout at the end of each day of every thought, and strong feeling, that had its moment of glory in the sunlight of your mind? Ouch. What would be the ratio of positive to negative thoughts? Could the "Law" of Attraction be getting many mixed signals from you? One moment, happy? Another moment, discouraged? Another time, really, really, really upset? What's the "Law" supposed to do to help you? How will it answer you? Exactly how many different images can we place on the photographic plate of our minds daily and not blow the transmission lines radiating from ourselves to that great Central Answering Station, wherever it's located.

Click to Read: A Surprisingly Simple Way to Make Life Give You What You Want

The Law of Attraction in the Thought World

Excerpt from my Article -- We set into motion what Atkinson refers to as the great Law of Attraction. Amazingly, there are several Ballew vocals on YouTube. I'd suggest you start with the recordings of Smith Ballew, Bing Crosby, Annette Hanshaw -- who retired before the age of 30 -- and who is my favorite female vocalist of all time. Are the things that surround me, including my neighborhood, my car or truck, my city, a faithful reproduction of who I really AM?"

Click to Read: Quick Easy Questions for Getting Your Life On Track

Are You A Metagrumbler?

Excerpt from my article -- The meta-grumbles "are the meta-motivations which hold in the self-actualizing life." "Doors that are worth entering," Collier writes, "are usually closed, but the resolute bang away at them." He also says, and this I love, that "It is just as easy to talk in millions as in single dollars."

"What part are you acting in the theater of life?" Collier asks his readers. "What place have you assigned to yourself on that stage? Are you one of the stars?" He then quotes Ralph Waldo Emerson who astutely observed that "Man surrounds himself with the true image of himself." We become what we think about throughout the day and night, Collier believed, and so "If the dominating thought in your mind is riches, that thought will draw to you opportunities for riches you never dreamed of."
Click to Read: SECRETS OF A MAN WHO MADE MILLIONS FOR HIMSELF AND HIS CLIENTS

YOU'RE SURELY NOT SAYING IMPROVING MY ATTITUDE WILL MAKE MY LIFE BETTER ARE YOU?

Excerpt from my article -- We live in a “mysterious universe,” one of design and, I believe, purpose. There are “fundamental principles” that bring us love, joy, peace and happiness and there are “ways of living” that do the opposite. Emerson tells us, “A little consideration of what takes place around us every day would show us that a higher law than that of our will regulates events; that our painful labours are unnecessary and fruitless; that only in our easy, simple, spontaneous action are we strong...Place yourself in the middle of the stream of power and wisdom which animates all whom it floats, and you are without effort impelled to truth, to right, and a perfect contentment.” And then, this amazing statement, also from Emerson: “Truth is always present; one only needs to lift the iron lids of the mind’s eye to read its oracles.”

Click to Read:YOU'RE SURELY NOT SAYING IMPROVING MY ATTITUDE WILL MAKE MY LIFE BETTER ARE YOU?

LIVING LIFE WITH YOUR PURPOSE, NOT SOMEONE ELSE'S PURPOSE

Excerpt from my article -- Why does there seem to be so much repetition in the things we go through?
