Success -- Is There a Science of Success?

Is there a Science of Success? According to Julia Seton Sears, M.D., definite laws of success exist. Julia Seton Sears' book The Science of Success is a very rare book originally published in 1914. Her husband, F.W. Sears published his own book "How to Attract Success" and the two compliment each other.

So, What Is Success?

Dr. Sears stated, "Success is the power in the individual to get the thing he or she wants, when they want it, in the way the want it, to keep it as long as they want it and when they have included it, let go of it, and pass on to the fulfillment of a new desire." This definition of Success is about as inclusive as any I've ever read.

"We see clearly that everyone in the world is doing just the thing they should do and that when they have gotten enough of the old thing, and include all its laws in their consciousness," Sears writes, "they will quit and naturally pass on into the inclusion of something else." Success is not "a mysterious thing that waits around and then rushes unannounced into a life," Sears continues.

"The reason so many are seeking success, fame, money, love and recognition and not finding it, is because they have never learned the first necessary lesson of knowing themselves. First, they do not know what they want to do, and secondly, they do not know how to do what they want to do." The first true law for success, Sears indicates, is, "know what part of the mighty stream of the universe you belong, and then strike boldly out in that current of life."

The creative person, she adds, "does not think in dollars;" they "think in millions." The failure world, Sears points out, "is heaped high with those who didn't know." In other words most people don't have a CLUE as to what they want to do with their lives beyond safety and self-preservation needs. I recommend this rare book to you because "The individual who hopes for success must become that success in their own mind, at once," and Sears' book shows her readers how to exactly do just that.
